1 Vacancy: Math Teacher
POSITION TITLE:
Full-time secondary mathematics teacher
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelors or masters degree in Education
- One year of full-time teaching experience of Algebra 1 or 2, Geometry, Precalculus, or Calculus.
- Coursework in and experience/familiarity with educational technology for mathematics, including the Smart Board, TI-Nspire, TI-83 & 84, and Geometer’s Sketchpad
- A valid Secondary Teaching certification in Mathematics
POSITION SUMMARY:
- Will teach approximately 5 mathematics courses at multiple Jewish schools
- Teachers will work together to design and implement an effective standards-based curriculum
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND INTRUCTIONAL SKILLS
- Adept in student-centered instructional planning, classroom management, and student development
- Must be growth-oriented in teaching style, student differentiation, and student engagement and motivation
- Communicates effectively with parents and encourages positive school-community relationships
- Exhibits professional work ethic and regularly maintains a knowledge of current trends in education
- Works in a supportive role with colleagues in a variety of curriculum, classroom, and district planning contexts
- Proficient in all secondary level mathematics.
