1 Vacancy: Math Teacher

POSITION TITLE:

Full-time secondary mathematics teacher

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• A bachelors or masters degree in Education
• One year of full-time teaching experience of Algebra 1 or 2, Geometry, Precalculus, or Calculus.
• Coursework in and experience/familiarity with educational technology for mathematics, including the Smart Board, TI-Nspire, TI-83 & 84, and Geometer’s Sketchpad
• A valid Secondary Teaching certification in Mathematics

POSITION SUMMARY:

• Will teach approximately 5 mathematics courses at multiple Jewish schools
• Teachers will work together to design and implement an effective standards-based curriculum

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES AND INTRUCTIONAL SKILLS

• Adept in student-centered instructional planning, classroom management, and student development
• Must be growth-oriented in teaching style, student differentiation, and student engagement and motivation
• Communicates effectively with parents and encourages positive school-community relationships
• Exhibits professional work ethic and regularly maintains a knowledge of current trends in education
• Works in a supportive role with colleagues in a variety of curriculum, classroom, and district planning contexts
• Proficient in all secondary level mathematics.
