DEEP hosts a series of mathematics education seminars titled Thinking DEEP. We have had 2 so far; both focusing on how to improve mathematics education. Approximately 40 local math teachers from Hanna Sacks Bais Yaakov, Ida Crown Jewish Academy, Bais Yaakov High School, Fasman Yeshiva, Yeshivas Meor Hatorah, Hillel Torah, Arie Crown, and Joan Dacks Bais Yaakov attended each seminar. The first seminar took place in November 2013, led by Mr. Zachary Herrman, top mathematics educator at Evanston High School, and PhD candidate at Harvard University. His topic was Motivational Mathematics Education. The second seminar took place in May 2014, and was led by Dr. Stephanie Whitney, an Assistant Professor at Depaul University.
